Preparing for a Skype conference call (Windows)

This article will assist faculty, staff, and students when preparing for a Skype conference call using windows.

First, login to Skype using your Skype username and password

 

 

To add a contact, follow the steps below.

  1. Click on the add contacts icon.
  2. Insert the Skype username or email address of the person you are looking for.
  3. Once you have located the person, click on their name. 
  4. Click the blue add to contacts button. 

 

 

 

Audio settings

  1. Click on call.
  2. Click on audio settings. 
  3. To adjust your microphone settings, select the microphone in the drop-down menu. To test that your microphone is working, verify that the sound bar lights up when you speak.
  4. To adjust your speakers, click on the drop-down menu and select the correct speakers. 

 

 

Video settings

  1. Click on call.
  2. Click on video. 
  3. Click on video settings. 
  4. A preview of the video will be displayed in the settings box. If you need to change the webcam, select the correct webcam in the drop-down menu.
