Cisco VoIP - Speed Dial Setup and Use

Setup/Create:

The setup of Speed Dials for your Cisco phone is done through the Cisco Phone Web Portal.

  1. irst start by logging into the Cisco Phone Web Portal:
https://csce-csco-cucm-01.tamu.edu/ucmuser/       *Use your TAMU NetID username & password to log in.
  2. Go to “Phone Settings” -> “Speed Dial Numbers”
  3. Click your phone device, then click on the “Add New Speed Dial”    (Remember to add a “9” for off campus numbers)

For each Speed Dial you create it, you also set a “Speed Dial Number” from 1-199. The speed dial number you set for a speed dial entry is what you will dial on your phone to access that speed dial.

Use/Access:

To access/use the speed dial entries you’ve just created simply start dialing the “Speed Dial Number” of the entry you wish to use, then look for and press the “Abbr dial” softkey within the softkey menus (softkeys are the 4 horizontal buttons under the phones screen).  If “Abbr dial” isn’t a currently listed softkey option look for “..” or “” softkey (which stands for next page) and press it until you see the softkey option you are looking for.

Speed Dials will also show up on any available/unused line buttons on your phone if they have been programmed as a speed dial button.  They will show up in the order of their speed dial number place holder.
