Preparing for a Skype conference call (Mac)

First, login to Skype using your Skype username and password. 

If the person you are trying to Skype with is not added to your contacts, follow the instructions below. 

1. Click on contacts tab. 
2. Click  on add contact. 
3. Insert the Skype username or email address of the person you are looking for. 
4. Click on the green add sign. 
5. A message will be sent to the user notifying them of your request to add them into your contacts. 

To verify that the video/audio settings are correct, follow the instructions below.

1. Click on Skype at the top left corner of your tool bar.
2. Click on preferences. 
3. Click on audio/video. 

• To adjust your microphone settings, select the correct microphone that you will be using in the drop-down menu. To test that your microphone is working, verify that the sound bar lights up when you speak.
• You must change the speakers to the correct speakers that are being used. To adjust your speakers, click on the drop-down menu and select the correct speakers. 
• A preview of the video from your webcam will be displayed in the settings box. If you need to change the webcam, select the correct webcam in the drop-down menu.
