Scan to Network on Xerox (DEAN's Office)

General operations and expectations of Scan to folder usage:

Home folder scanning:
1) From the Xerox, choose "Scan to Network" from the main touch screen menu.  You will notice that it does not require a code to proceed

2) Next, choose the desired destination Name from the address list on the left hand side.  Many names will be listed and could require scrolling down to find your target destination if it is not visible in the top 5-6 names

3) Last load the MDF with your document and press start

Your scan will appear in your "Scans" folder, on your computer, back in your office.  If someone has not worked with you on the folder or location, or you are unsure if your account is setup to scan, please consult with Technology Services.

Note: all items placed in the MDP at time of start will be grouped together as one scan therefore 1 PDF.  If you need to create multiple documents, separate the pages and scan them separately or in smaller groups of files.

Shared folder or group folder scanning:

1) From the Xerox, choose "Scan to Network" from the main touch screen menu.  You will notice that it does not require a code to proceed

2) Next, choose the desired destination Name of the Group or Project from the address list on the left hand side.  Many names will be listed and could require scrolling down to find your target destination if it is not visible in the top 5-6 names.

3) Last load the MDF with your document(s) and press start

Your scan will appear in your Project Share Folder on the S:\ Drive (S:\Your_Project_Share_Here\Scans).   On your computer, use Explorer and navigate to the S Drive, select and open the folder for the project, the Scan Folder should reveal the newly created document with the same day time stamp..

Note: all items placed in the MDP at time of start will grouped together as one scan therefor, 1 PDF.  If you need to create multiple documents, separate the groups and scan them logically as a collective document.

The Xerox will sound with a single beep, if there was a successfull scan to network.  A failed scan to network will yield a double beep and spit out a log error page printed to review the error code and additional information.
